life is full of moments as fleeting as they are dazzling. this is my attempt to capture some of them. |
Smile Friday: What I was doing this time last year edition
(And totally pouting about it.)
Theme night at kickball is “It Used to Be Cool.”
My husband doesn’t know it yet, but he will be wearing a gas station-style shirt and trucker hat. I will be wearing some throwback butterfly clips and an ankle-length Laura Ashley denim jumper with no sleeves and some hella intense embroidery. (No pic yet because it’s currently in the dryer after a good hot wash!)
Total spent at Goodwill + the dollar bin at Target = $9
Game on!
Big smiles!
Met up with my husband’s best friend’s best friend.
Love Summer Camp!
I’m drunk!
Is this thing on?
It would be wise for me to remember that when my husband is out of town, I only need to cook enough for one person - not two.
(Golden beets and chevre over arugula with balsamic dressing; Linguini with agretti in an olive oil, garlic white wine sauce; & garlic spelt bread)
Now its time for a Breaking Bad/wine marathon. Night 1/4 of flying solo is off to a good start!
Mind = blown
People I refused to share water with today.
ps. I also saw Audrina Patridge and she was hella cute in person. The fellow “local” security guard told me she got paid $50k to splash around awkwardly in the private cabana pool for the papparazi in honor of her birthday. She also had her assistant walk the red carpet before her to make sure the lighting was just so.
Currently: dozing in and out of consciousness under a tree in the park with my dog next to me. It’s 85 degrees and the sun is setting. I have a bag full of goodies from the farmers market that need to be refrigerated but I couldn’t care less at this moment. The sun - and stillness - feel so good.
This park is always fill of cute families and I’d be lying if they didn’t put a pang in my heart from time to time. But I have to say that I think the people walking by with screaming kids might a little jealous of me right now.

Liking the Hood Internet’s new mixtape. Lots.
This is what 16 pounds of spelt berries looks like, in case you were wondering. Not really that fun to carry it back from our mailbox, which is a block away.
BUT … buying bulk means that each loaf will come out to about $1 each if I’ve done the math right. Can’t beat that for freshly-baked bread!
Trainer: Hands up.
Me: My arms are tired.
Trainer: Your face is tired.
Me: I love you.
Trainer: Prove it. Hands up!
